Wisdom Circles is a series of online gatherings that create meaningful connections between indigenous elders and people from around the world. These experiences offer access to ancestral knowledge shared with authenticity and respect.

Our mission is to honor and preserve traditional wisdom by offering online classes, discussion circles, and retreats in the Amazon Rainforest. We work to democratize access to teachings that were once limited to the forest, while recognizing and valuing the elders who have dedicated their lives to keeping this knowledge alive.

We also aim to document and preserve these teachings in video, creating a living archive guided by the voices of the elders themselves.

Pajé Kupi

Pajé Kupi, the elder of Pinuya Village, is one of the oldest living elders of the Huni Kuin people and is considered a living library of traditional knowledge. Born in 1940 in a remote area of the upper Rio Jordão during the time of forced labor in rubber plantations and repression of traditional culture, he has a deep-rooted connection to his heritage.

A member of the Manduca family, he received his first dieta from his father at the age of 5. After this initiation, he dedicated his life to spirituality, becoming a vital source of knowledge for his people and passing on this legacy to future generations. He is now the primary guardian of his family's knowledge, well-known for the work of cataloging medicinal plants used traditionally by the Huni Kuin people, developed by his brother, Pajé Agostinho Ikamuru, in the book "Una Isï Kayawa - Livro da Cura."

At 84 years old, Pajé Kupi remains in good health and spirits. He is a living repository of knowledge about medicinal plants, diets, rituals, and the chants of PakarÄ« (healing prayers) and Huni Meka (songs of the vine). As the guardian of his healing space, he performs extractions of essential oils from their medicinal plants and provides private consultations. It is an one-of-a-kind opportunity to be in his presence, to hear his chants, and to learn from his stories.

Pajé Kixtin

sol.png

Kixtin is a pajé, a spiritual leader and guardian of the Huni Kuin ancestral knowledge passed down through his family lineage. He lives with his family in the village of Ni Yuxibu (Altamira), located on the Jordão River, within the Seringal Independência Indigenous Land, in a remote region of the Amazon.

He received this ancestral wisdom from his grandfather, Tuin Huni Kuin (Romão Sales), through oral transmission — inheriting the knowledge of traditional medicines, sacred plants, chants, and the sacred rituals of the Huni Kuin tradition.

Despite the hardships brought by the rubber boom in the region, Kixtin’s grandfather managed to preserve and protect the traditional knowledge of his people. From an early age, Kixtin became his apprentice, walking the path of learning with deep dedication.

Today, Kixtin is also a teacher and painter. Through his paintings he teaches the different chants of the Huni Kuin culture: the vine chants (Huni Meka), healing chants (Pakarin), and songs of abundance (Katxanawa).

His dream is to pass on this artistic and spiritual knowledge to future generations, keeping the Huni Kuin culture alive, vibrant, and rooted in its sacred origins..
